Noize Record Club apresenta:
Sandra de Sá (1982)

Assistant Director

As a creative assistant to director Rafa Rocha, my mission was to craft a visual narrative for Noize Record Club that not only honored the iconic 1982 album by Sandra de Sá but also celebrated the essence of its most defining track, "Olhos Coloridos."

This campaign bridges the timeless power of music with a modern, immersive storytelling approach that intertwines historical depth, poetic visuals, and a strong social message.

Here's the breakdown of our vision:

Visual and Narrative Approach
The film merges two powerful storytelling elements:

Sandra's Testimonial:
A heartfelt account from Sandra herself, sharing the cultural and personal significance of "Olhos Coloridos." Her story weaves through reflections on systemic racism and the resilience that defined her career and this album.

Performance Art:
A contemporary dance portrayal by a Black male performer, embodying the spirit of the song's narrative. The dancer’s movements, set against the backdrop of Rio de Janeiro’s nocturnal chaos, become a visceral representation of struggle, defiance, and eventual triumph.

Aesthetic Design

Inspired by the album cover, the visual palette leans on bold contrasts: the leather jacket as a nod to Sandra's timeless style, juxtaposed with the raw textures of urban streets. The dynamic interplay between Sandra's studio setting and the dancer's environment creates a rhythm that crescendos with the iconic track.

Key Scenes

Opening Atmosphere:
Ambient street sounds of Rio set the stage. A dancer in a leather jacket begins a journey, symbolizing introspection and resilience.

Sandra in Focus:
In a stark studio setting, Sandra recounts the origins of "Olhos Coloridos," with close-up shots highlighting her expressions and the tangible emotions in her voice.

Climactic Unity:
As the song’s rhythm builds, the dancer’s movements intensify, seamlessly blending with Sandra’s narrative, culminating in an empowering celebration of identity.
Impact

This project doesn’t just revive a piece of music history; it recontextualizes its message for a modern audience. It’s a homage to Sandra de Sá’s groundbreaking artistry and a call to continue celebrating diversity and resilience in every form.
This film is more than a campaign—it's a cultural statement, where music, history, and art converge.
